This challenging addition saw the existing two storey EV #2 “bridged” with a four storey tower and a third and fourth floor were added above existing building. The University of Waterloo central utility plant provided chilled water and steam to low temperature HVAC system and steam converters. Rainwater collection, energy recovery ventilators, a living wall, high-efficiency equipment/fixtures, measurement, and verification were just a few of the items utilized in targeting LEED Platinum.
